A Signing Agent is a commissioned Notary Public who specializes in the obtaining and notarizing the signatures of the party (ies) involved on documents for the purpose of closing a real estate loan transaction purchases. Agents are independent sub-contractors and are not directly involved with the signing company or the Lenders.
Lenders who offer refinance, second mortgages and home equity loans through out the country rely heavily on competent Notary Signing Agents to complete and notarizing portions of the real estate loan transaction in a professional and accurate manner.
The Signing Agent is a Notary Public who has been 'specifically' trained with knowledge and skills needed in presenting the legal documents used in loan transactions. Those agents, while not "directly" involved in the transaction, have an advanced knowledge of the various forms and their terms.
Signing agents are not directly affiliated with the Loan Company to answer legal and financial questions.
Specific loan questions are deferred to the lender or Mortgage Representative.
Agents continue to expand their knowledge base in Notary Public laws, and legislation thru their memberships in Professional Associations.
